This specific Kohler model generator is designed to be located at a minimum of 18" from any combustible material such as Houses, Trees, any building structure and so on. The normal non reduced set back model is designed for a minimum of 5' off any structure. Most people go with these models because its more concealed closer to your house and not so much out in the open 5 feet off your house. The only differences between this model and the standard is the enclosure material. Its made to withstand higher temperatures and contain any fires. Other than the stronger enclosure this is the same motor, internal parts, and warranty as your standard model.
