Solar Panels come in all different sizes, colors and cost. Although you can buy a 450watt panel or a 400watt panel for two different prices, in the end you still make the same amount of power for the given square footage space of your solar panel layout. All solar panels are made just about the same, meaning that a 425watt panel is physically larger than a 400watt panel to be able to produce that extra 50watts. To put this into perspective, you may only have enough room for ten 450watt panels on your layout equalling 4500watts total. But you need to take into consideration that since the 400watt panel is physically smaller, you might be able to fit 12 of these on your roof or layout equalling 4800watts total. In the end it really boils down to the amount of allowable room in your layout to determine the size & strength of the panel you want to buy.
