This particular EV charger is specifically designed for commercial car charging applications. This model is not designed for at home or residential installation. The reason for this design is the high output of DC to fast charge your car needs produced comes from high voltage 3-phase power. 277 / 480 volts to be exact. Most residential communities do not have 3 phase power, and your typical house runs on 120 / 240volts. Even most commercial applications for installing these chargers require additional high voltage equipment to supply the charger with enough juice to charge the car in a short period of time.
